This kit is a great introduction to felting. It comes with complete instructions on how to felt as well as detailed instructions to knit the backpack. The kit contains 6 balls of Patons Classic Merino Wool, 5 in Dark Grey Mix (colour 225) and one in Rich Red (colour 207). Also included is Patons book 500999 "Great Felted Bags".

The finished size of the backpack is about 12½ inches (38 cm) wide by 11¼ inches (29 cm) high excluding the straps.

Classic Merino Wool is a very good yarn for felting.

You will also need one pair of 4.5 mm (US 7) knitting needles, one circular knitting needle 4.5 mm (US 7) by 16 inches (40 cm) long, and one set of 4.5 mm (US 7) double pointed needles, and a toggle. These are not included in the kit.
