Machine Needle Felting

Needle Felting is not just for wool. You can create stunning effects with almost any fibre. Silks, cottons, velvet, denim and many manmade fibres give beautiful results. Whether you simply want to add details to your work, redesign a favourite garment or create a complete work of art, needle felting opens a whole new world of texture and design.

In this workshop you will explore the possibilities. You will work with Silk, cheese cloth, cottons, organza, yarn, quilt batting and various other fibres to create different effects. You will learn how to make 3 dimensional pieces such as flowers and leaves , how to create a net sandwich of fibres and how to add soft subtle details that have the viewer guessing how they were done. Come and be inspired!

This is a two week course, 2 hours per week. Cost $35.00 There is also a $20 kit for this class. The kit will include foundation fabrics for 3 journal pages (small quilts) which will include felted wool, quilt batting, hand dyed cheese cloth and cotton fabrics, velvet, silk, organza, net, stabilizer and access to Jo-Ann’s decorative yarn stash.
