POM by Estelle is one of the new cocoon type yarns, which knit or crochet very fast to make decorative scarves and accessories. POM has added sparkle to each of the POMs and the yarn is multicoloured. POM is 100% polyester. Here is a simple pattern for a knit scarf.

Pattern for one hour, one skein scarf

Approximate size 5 inches by 58 inches (13 cm by 1.5 metres). With 10 mm needles (US 15) cast on 4 stitches using the cable cast on method. Cast on one stitch for each length of yarn between each POM. In garter stitch (knit every row) knit two stitches for each length of yarn between the POMs. Continue in stocking stitch until the desired length. Cast off (bind off) using one stitch between each POM.

Pattern for a two skein scarf

Approximate size 7.5 inches by 77 inches (19 cm by 2 metres). Work as above but cast on 6 stitches. To join the skeins, just tie the skeins together making sure the joined length of yarn between the POMs is about 2 inches (5 cm) long.

Tension: 6 stitches to 4 inches (10 cm) using 10 mm (US 15) needles.

Cleaning: Hand wash, dry flat.

Available in a 200 gram (7 ounce) hank.
Contains approximately 30 metres (33 yards.)
