Also, the student will learn how to join these quilted blocks together in a unique way that allows you to quilt the quilt, block by block instead of wrestling with the whole quilt under the sewing machine. Students will work with our Husqvarna Viking sewing machines.

Sashiko Table Runner

Sashiko is a century old Japanese stitching art. To provide extra warmth for outdoor wear, the Japanese stitched many layers of fabric together with a running stitch. The fabric they used was indigo and the thread was heavy weight white cotton. The white thread on blue fabric made a strong statement. In this class you will be using contemporary fabrics, and you will learn to draw and stitch three Sashiko patterns, make templates, do reversible sashing and binding, and adjust stitch tension and presser foot pressure. You will also be using a variety of quilting tools. The techniques you will learn can be used on other quilting projects.

This is a 4 week course. 3 hours per week . Cost $96.00
