We are often asked what size clothing you should knit for a child of a certain age. This table is for an average size child. The child you are knitting for may be bigger or smaller, so use the chart with care. If in doubt, knit a larger size. Children always grow. We have also added a "finished size" column, which is for an average size sweater - not tight fitting but not too loose either.
